Grantmaking Overview

The Harder Foundation supports organizations and projects that protect biodiversity on public lands and waters in Alaska, Colorado, the Pacific Northwest, and the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem. We focus primarily on preservation of large, biologically significant wildlife habitat areas and healthy terrestrial, river and nearshore marine ecosystems. Priorities include state or regional projects and campaigns aimed at winning long-term protections for critical ecosystems that are facing immediate and concrete threats, or that have the potential to sustain species in the face of climate change.

The Harder Foundation Board of Trustees reconsiders general funding priorities during their annual meeting in February of each year. Please note that as of March 2008, The Harder Foundation is implementing an invitation-only application process and will no longer accept unsolicited letters of inquiry or proposals.
